There is a considerable number of volunteers, be they in sports, political or other organisations. In any one town, one will note various committees, including for Tidy Towns and the Red Cross. Michael McCarthy: The objective proposed of asking the Department to develop a policy is a good one. I will seek agreement from the committee to make that proposal following discussion among the members. I also suggest taking a photograph with the witnesses and formulating a press statement to add to that. It would be a good objective to achieve on foot of this meeting.
