Olwyn Enright: The banks gave people questionable advice in recent years. People will find themselves in difficulties as a result of reckless lending.

Olwyn Enright: I urge the Minister to do that immediately. People will encounter difficulties down the line. It is wrong that people's payments for an entire month are going to these companies, rather than towards the repayment of the debts that got them into trouble in the first place. Olwyn Enright: I am not satisfied that applications are being processed within an acceptable timeframe. The Minister provided examples of payments which are made on time but I will outline cases where delays have occurred. The biggest issue with which we deal is the jobseekers allowance but I also wish to raise the back-to-education allowance. I do not know Deputy Shortall's experience of this issue but...
