- Seanad: Water Services: Motion (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: I will but seeing as it was raised, all I will say is that we, in Fianna Fáil, will not dig Fine Gael out of its troubles. I can tell it that. It should not rely on us to do it whatever about getting the Shinners to do it. I may as well put it on the record now.
- Seanad: Water Services: Motion (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: That is one of the great non-events of all time. It is interesting that it is coming from Government Ministers. They must be getting very nervous in their constituencies when they start spoofing about the possibility of an alliance-----
- Seanad: Water Services: Motion (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: In the context of this motion, our main concern has been a wastage of public money that started last year when Mr. John Tierney went on national radio and said that €50 million had been spent not on water conservation, on metering or on improving the infrastructure but on blooming consultants, if one does not mind. - Seanad: Water Services: Motion (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: I hope the people are not codded by that. What I am saying is that the €50 million spent is very questionable and I do not believe it has been fully accounted for in terms of where it was spent and how the procurement process was undertaken.

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Fuel Fraud: (Resumed) Consumers Association of Ireland and Insurance Ireland (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: I will be brief asking this question because unfortunately I have to leave. I thank the witnesses. To follow up on what Deputy Fitzmaurice said, I have had the same experience. I was surprised to hear that 600 claims were settled because that is not the reality in terms of the few people who have contacted me. The most recent case is a neighbour who has no idea where he got the petrol...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Fuel Fraud: (Resumed) Consumers Association of Ireland and Insurance Ireland (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: The insurance industry here has a great deal to answer for, and it is not good enough to come in here and roll out those statistics when we know the reality on the ground is totally different.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Fuel Fraud: (Resumed) Consumers Association of Ireland and Insurance Ireland (21 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: And there are different companies adopting different policies.
- Seanad: Direct Provision: Statements (22 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Ó Ríordáin, to the House. I recall that when he came here not long after he had been appointed, he said that one of his priorities was to address this ongoing issue which has been, in a sense, a running sore in our immigration policy for almost 20 years. At the beginning of the cycle of the Celtic tiger we began to attract more and more...
- Seanad: Order of Business (28 Jan 2015)
Paschal Mooney: I support the comments made on the attacks of the Office of the President. It must be remembered it was not an attack on the person of Michael D. Higgins but an attack on the institution of the presidency. That is something that should give pause for thought to the members of the public who have increasingly become disillusioned with party politics. Perhaps we have a responsibility...
