Colm Burke: I thank the witnesses for their presentation and for the work that has been done over the past few months. - Special Committee on Covid-19 Response: Covid-19: Update on Testing and Tracing and Rising Incidence in the State (29 Sep 2020)
Colm Burke: I am not aware which type of test it is. My understanding is that a special unit has been set up in Vienna to deal with Covid-19 testing that quickly provides results, particularly in schools and colleges where there are a large number of students. I wonder if that issue could be looked at. I will move on to discuss elderly care units within the HSE. There were challenges during the...

Our hospital services are not able to cope with the demand. In the context of Covid, can the Minister tell me if there has been any engagement with the private hospitals in Cork as regards accessing facilities? For instance,...

- Special Committee on Covid-19 Response: Business of Special Committee (30 Sep 2020)
Colm Burke: Can we have a deadline for that? I have been raising the matter for the past four years and have got the same answer every time. It is still with the South/South West Hospital Group, or the HSE, or the Department and we are waiting for one to get back to the other. For God's sake, can someone sit down around a table with all interested parties and come to a decision?
- Special Committee on Covid-19 Response: Business of Special Committee (30 Sep 2020)

- Public Accounts Committee: Special Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Nursing Homes Support Scheme: Discussion (1 Oct 2020)
Colm Burke: I asked about the €590 million spent in 2018, but I did not get clarification on that topic. Some €320 million comes from the fair deal scheme and €68 million from the residents in the public nursing homes, but there is a gap. Could I get a reply in writing regarding how that gap arose?
