I ask them to forward the key points in their presentation to the committee. That would assist our ongoing work and the work we will do in the future, particularly in respect of Deputy Dooley's proposal.

Tom Hayes: This has been a very informative meeting which challenged us to help make the process more informative. I thank the witnesses for the information they supplied to the committee and we will raise the issue again next week with the Road Safety Authority.

As there is no other business, the committee is adjourned until 9.30 a.m. on Wednesday, 13 February, when we will meet officials from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the Road Safety Authority and the Health and Safety Authority to discuss the European Commission's roadworthiness package.
