Catherine Noone: I despair at this amendment. I find it offensive. On the only other occasion I spoke today it was about trusting women. This is about control. This is trying to control women and further traumatise people who are in very difficult circumstances already. This is the worst one yet and I categorically oppose it.

We all may need to have amendments withdrawn at certain points, for whatever reason. However, it is an equally dangerous precedent to speak on an amendment for two hours and then withdraw it.
