Joan Burton: Yes, it is. Against all the advice to the former Minister for Education and Science, Deputy Hanafin, she persisted in recognising the school. There was a U-turn when ministerial appointments were made. Legislation was promised in this area. She refused to recognise the Educate Together school in Carpenterstown which had an enrolment of 60 children.
