Ulick Burke: Last February-March, the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food introduced a compensation scheme for farmers who had suffered severe losses of crops, particularly vegetable crops, following frost and flooding. Recently, following assessments, the Minister reduced the compensation figure by 50%.
