Robert Troy: In effect, it will be a return to prioritising and categorising children as high risk, medium risk and low risk. If the budget is not what Mr. Jeyes expects it to be, children in the medium risk and low risk categories will have to move into the high risk category before they are seen.

Robert Troy: Two budgets ago the Government introduced an increase to the pupil-teacher ratio for all schools with four teachers or fewer. This is having a detrimental effect on many schools in rural Ireland and those of minority faiths. This was done in advance of the Department carrying out an independent evaluation on the schools. I understand the Department has had the report for the past 18 months...
