Brian Cowen: The Government announced last August that, as part of the preparation of NDP 2007-2013, it would undertake a full consultation process. This consultation process will involve the social partners, regional interests and other concerned interest groups. The consultation process will commence in the near future.

Brian Cowen: I am aware of the issues raised by the Deputy and this is a long-standing matter. Reform is required in updating the coroner's legislation. A Bill is in preparation to provide for reform of the coroners service and to replace the Coroner's Act 1962.
