Noel Coonan: I join in the call for a debate on transport, particularly on road freight. I am not being the devil's advocate when I say we are being unfair to the road haulage industry, which provides so much employment in rural Ireland to farmers who are working part-time. These people would be driven off the land by the policies implemented in agriculture.

Noel Coonan: What is one to do â cherrypick towns that have depots? Road hauliers provide a good service and I wish their voice to be heard. While I support the call for the debate, it should be an all-inclusive debate rather than one that paints the issue in black and white.
