Pat Breen: I wish to seek the Adjournment of Dáil Ãireann under Standing Order 32 to raise a matter of extreme importance, namely, the announcement by Aer Lingus that three quarters of its cabin crew at Shannon Airport are to be made redundant. The airline has already failed to sign up to the new state-of-the-art US pre-clearance facility and there is now a serious threat over transatlantic services...

Pat Breen: These are testing times for Aer Lingus and its staff, especially those based at Shannon Airport. The airline's lamp is burning through its cash reserves faster than it can refill them and by the end of the year its cash reserves are expected to be down to â¬400 million from â¬803 million in 2008. Some of the airline management's decisions in recent years have been questionable and have...
