James Browne: My advice to families or patients is that the only way it seems possible to get accommodation resolved for somebody who is leaving a psychiatry department is to refuse to leave the hospital under any circumstances until it is resolved. If one walks out the door it becomes almost impossible but if one refuses to leave, the department will find some way to resolve the housing situation.
