Pat Deering: I have a couple of questions for the representatives of Teagasc. I attended a trial farm in my part of the country, and I am sure Dr. O.Mara knows where I am talking about. Teagasc has done a considerable amount of work, in conjunction with others, to develop a suckler-type calf from a dairy cow. Can the witnesses give us more information about that? I want to know exactly what model is used to distribute the money. I will give an example. I am from Carlow. The argument is made time and time again that Carlow is treated very unfairly. Carlow has a budget of €49 million and a population of 56,000. By comparison, Monaghan has a population of approximately 57,000 or 58,000....

In order to make it fairer and more transparent, which I think everybody has mentioned previously, what models are being considered? The officials are probably limited as to what they can tell us but I am sure indicate the models that are being investigated.
