Maurice Cummins: I would like to support what Senator Harris said about the Irish passport issue which I raised in the House last week. I compared the action taken against Israel with the lack of action against Russia. I asked for the Minister to be invited to come to the House to explain the action he intended to take. Regrettably, we have had nothing but silence to date.

Maurice Cummins: Last Thursday night 75 prisoners took part in a major riot at Mountjoy Prison in which several prison officers and prisoners were injured. I take the opportunity to compliment our prison officers who do an excellent job in very trying circumstances. I have continually called for debates on the many issues relating to our prisons, including overcrowding.
