Michael McCarthy: I welcome, from the Department, Mr. Aidan O'Connor and Ms Marion Kiernan. I will lead off with two questions, the first of which is whether the Minister can envisage an estimated timeframe for a conclusion. Second, does the Minister believe the solution will be imposed by him, as opposed to being led by the sectors to which he referred?

Michael McCarthy: I have here a piece of pyrite-affected stone. When one sees its colour, one would ask oneself how it ever left a quarry. Given the misery inflicted, it is beyond belief how quality control analysts ever allowed it to travel beyond the quarries.
