- Order of Business (24 May 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: We have not got that and we must debate, in this House, the outcome of that European Council. We must have a full opportunity to question the Taoiseach about what happened and what proposals for growth and investment-----

- Electricity Regulation (Carbon Revenue Levy) (Amendment) Bill 2012: Second and Subsequent Stages (24 May 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: We find ourselves in a very difficult position here. I am not happy with the circumstances which led to the need for this Bill to be introduced. We probably have no choice other than to support this legislation. This debate gives us an opportunity to highlight some serious issues. I would like to make a few points and ask a few questions to help me to understand fully what is going on....

Richard Boyd Barrett: Despite the crippling austerity imposed by the Government on working people-----
- Order of Business (6 Jun 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: -----it has failed to get a deal on the bank debt issue. As a consequence, it is now a racing certainty that we will require a second so-called bailout and be forced into the ESM programme which is nothing more than another but institutionalised EU-IMF austerity programme.
- Order of Business (6 Jun 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: Incredibly, despite that certainty - something even the Government's spokespeople more or less acknowledged in the last week of the referendum debate - the Government refused to have a full debate on the European Stability Mechanism. Richard Boyd Barrett: -----but the Government is imposing a guillotine. This is what we get from a Government that promised more transparency and a new type of democracy - a guillotine is being imposed on the ESM Bill. That is absolutely unacceptable.
- Order of Business (6 Jun 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: The guillotine should be removed on the debate and the public should be allowed to know the full facts about the ESM.

- European Communities (Amendnment) Bill 2012: Second Stage (6 Jun 2012)
Richard Boyd Barrett: The idea that it was the arguments of the "No" side that led to the passing of the referendum is an interesting analysis. It gives little credit to the arguments of the "Yes" side and is not borne out by the facts. The polls showed that the percentages on the "Yes" and "No" sides did not shift from the beginning of the campaign to the end. It looks as though the arguments pretty much...
