Eircodes can assist on a practical level with preventing crime. An Garda...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Ambulance Services, Recruitment and Retention of Personnel, and Response Times: Discussion (22 Feb 2023)

Neasa Hourigan: So there is no Eircode postcode-type system. I imagine that when British Telecom is sending a notification of a call to either the Dublin Fire Brigade or the NAS, it generates an Eircode postcode and a case number but when the two organisations are talking to each other, somebody picks up the phone and speaks to the other party.

Written Answers — Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources: National Postcode System Implementation (14 Jul 2015) See 1 other result from this answer

Alex White: As the Department is primarily policy focussed, it does not run any large schemes aimed at the general public. Eircode data will however be incorporated into Departmental databases on an on-going basis and utilised as the need arises. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, which is an agency under the aegis of my Department, has already Eircode-enabled its key databases.

Vote 29 - Environment, Climate and Communications (Supplementary)
(15 Nov 2023)

Eamon Ryan: There are none that I am aware of. The eircode system is now well embedded. It is almost ten years since it was first introduced. I understand there may have been some slow turnaround in terms of new properties getting eircodes, but none have been brought to my attention. If the Deputy has any examples I will be happy to follow them up.

There has been much discussion about the possible benefits and downsides to the introduction of the new Eircode system. I believe the benefits of the system outweigh any potential negatives. Those of us who are supportive of Eircode will argue that the new system will bring benefits to...

Heather Humphreys: I am advised that no significant costs have been incurred within my Department to date in relation to the incorporation of Eircodes, as the necessary modifications to existing systems and databases have been carried out in-house. While some incidental costs would have arisen in relation to incorporating the Eircode on departmental stationery, websites and other places where addresses are...

A lot of people used to give out that it took a long time to be registered. One of...
