Aindrias Moynihan: Gabhaim buíochas leis an gCathaoirleach. Cuirim fáilte roimh an Aire agus roimh na hoifigigh. Gabhaim buíochas as an gcur i láthair agus tá an-chuid plé déanta ansin le tamaillín anuas. Tá a fhios agam cinnte go bhfuil an tAire an-bháúil don Ghaeilge agus go bhfuil an-suim aige cúrsaí teanga a chur chun cinn. Tá jab...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Tithíocht agus Cúrsaí Pleanála Fisiciúla sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (Atógáil) (26 Jan 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: Sula mbogfaimid ón cheist sin mar gheall ar an gcainteoir dúchasach agus an Gaeilgeoir ó lasmuigh den cheantar, níl mé ag déanamh aon idirdhealú eatarthu. Tá mé breá sásta go mbeadh Gaeilgeoir ó lasmuigh nó Gaeilgeoir ón cheantar dhúchasach ábalta tigh a thógáil sa Ghaeltacht agus cur leis an...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Tithíocht agus Cúrsaí Pleanála Fisiciúla sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (Atógáil) (26 Jan 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: Bhí ceist agam ar an údarás níos luaithe agus ní bhfuair mé freagra air. Bhain sé leis an tslí a bhfuil deis ag an údarás aighneachtaí a sheoladh ar na hiarratais phleanála. Tá ról ag an údarás ó thaobh teanga agus an chórais pleanála de. Bhí mé ag fiafraí conas nach bhfuil an...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Tithíocht agus Cúrsaí Pleanála Fisiciúla sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (Atógáil) (26 Jan 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: Conas nach bhfuil an t-údarás ag fáil gach iarratas pleanála? Cad ina thaobh nach bhfuil ach na hiarratais i gcomhair roinnt tithe atá ann? Tá an t-údarás ar chomhchéim leis An Taisce, le hUisce Éireann agus le go leor eagrais eile a bhfuil sé de cheart acu gach iarratas pleanála a bheith seolta ar aghaidh chucu. In ionad a bheith...
- Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Tithíocht agus Cúrsaí Pleanála Fisiciúla sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (Atógáil) (26 Jan 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: Tuigim go bhfuil gach iarratas le bheith seolta ar aghaidh. Ní gnáthrud é go mbeadh idirdhealú á dhéanamh ag an gcomhairle contae mar gheall ar an gcineál iarratas atá le seoladh ar aghaidh chuig grúpaí éagsúla aige. Seolann siad gach ceann go dtí An Taisce agus Uisce Éireann. Chuirfeadh sé ionadh orm dá mba...

- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Pensions Reform (3 Feb 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: The proposal of the Commission on Pensions to change the PRSI system and charge PRSI on supplementary pensions is a real worry for people, especially those for whom the pension is the only source of income. Can the Minister outline the strategy for dealing with this? Will she resist it?
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Pensions Reform (3 Feb 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: As the Minister stated, the State pension is a bedrock of the system; however, there are people who, for different reasons, do not qualify for one. The draft commission report recommended that pensioners pay more PRSI, but through having the solidarity rate and by the removal of the exemption on supplementary pensions. A supplementary pension sounds like something extra. For many, it is...
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Pensions Reform (3 Feb 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: Many of those who contacting me point to the fact that was no pensioner on the Commission on Pensions. They worry about how they are going to have their say and how their voice is going to be part of the whole engagement. In the absence of pensioner representation, they see these different proposals coming forward. They are threatening proposals that they feel will reduce their only...
- Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Indexation of Taxation and Social Protection System: Discussion (Resumed) (2 Feb 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: I thank Dr. Keane and Dr. Doorley for the presentation. I was listening attentively to the previous discussion. I would be interested in getting an understanding of the ESRI's view on whether this would be right across all social welfare payments that would be indexed. Would this move on into other benefits, such as social housing qualifying criteria and so on? Where would the ESRI see a...

- Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Indexation of Taxation and Social Protection System: Discussion (Resumed) (2 Feb 2022)
Aindrias Moynihan: With regard to indexing, does one look back towards inflation or forward towards wages or expected wages? Where there are unexpected circumstances or shocks to the system, Dr. Keane referred to making an adjustment the following year. A year is a long time away for those stuck on a fixed income when inflation is at a rate of 5% or 6%.
