John Brady: At least 50,000 have yet to be even reviewed. How long is that process expected to take, in terms of finalising the 24,000 and dealing with the others? John Brady: Of the 50,000 some will be straightforward and I expect the payment will be automatic, and some will need to come back and fill in the gaps. It is a question of going through the remaining 50,000 to weed out the ones that might need a little more work and the ones that should be straightforward.

John Brady: There is massive concern among the public on foot of the Indecon report. Much of it is legitimate concern. The Minister has the opportunity now to allay some of the concern. I will not delve into the Indecon report because that is a separate piece of work the committee intends to undertake. I would appreciate it if the Minister could allay the concern and say that the LES, as is, will remain.
