(2 Mar 2023)

Catherine Murphy: Okay. I would appreciate it if Mr. Breen would do that because this is an issue that is on my desk constantly. I know more than a couple of the people involved. Catherine Murphy: Looking at what the State liability is, we can see now that there is more than one route through which that liability can be estimated. In 2020 I asked a question of the Minister for Finance, whose Department is the parent Department for the State Claims Agency. I have just repeated that question to the Department and I should receive a response fairly soon. It is being collated....

Chapter 20: Management of the Clinical Indemnity Scheme of the Report on the Accounts of Public Services 2021

Catherine Murphy: I got this reply, with regard to the Department of Health, and I was told that it is 42. When I get a reply like this that is at total variance with the information we are provided with, it is very frustrating because when we get a reply to a parliamentary question, the one thing we want to be able to rely on is that the reply will be accurate. It is a very important source and it is on the...

(2 Mar 2023)

Catherine Murphy: I ask have just asked that same question. That question will have gone to the Department of Finance and obviously, the State Claims Agency will deal with it.
