- Seanad: Order of Business (15 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: The point I wanted to make, although I am continuously roared at, is that there is an issue in this city and country with cyclists not using cycle lanes or abiding by the rules of the road. I would like to see a debate on this. Overall, cycling is very positive. It is good to see people out cycling because it is good for their health, mental well-being and the environment. However, when...

- Seanad: Civil Liability (Amendment) Bill 2017: [Seanad Bill amended by the Dáil] Report and Final Stages (15 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: There is little for me to say that has not been said. It is good to see this legislation. It will impact very directly on the lives of people who have been injured. It also brings us into line with best international practice. The idea of a lump sum, shut, done and over with in a case does not really reflect the ongoing needs. The complex, difficult and challenging medical needs of a...

Martin Conway: Cuirim fáilte roimh an Aire go dtí an Teach. On a personal note I thank the Leader of the Seanad, Senator Buttimer, for allowing Senator Colm Burke to cover for me on this issue earlier. I was unavoidably detained in my constituency. - Seanad: Justice Matters: Statements (22 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: I welcome the Tánaiste. I have known her since the early 1990s. Anybody who would have the cheek to question her integrity is not doing the Houses of the Oireachtas any service. She is a woman of the highest integrity. She pioneered women's rights in the 1980s and 1990s when it was not popular to do so and when it was a big challenge to do so.
- Seanad: Justice Matters: Statements (22 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: Much of what we heard from the Opposition in the past 24 hours has been quite unsavoury. That continued this evening with Senator Clifford-Lee, who should reflect on her contribution, which was quite outrageous. It is totally inappropriate for her to suggest that the Tánaiste created some sort of scenario that allowed Sergeant Maurice McCabe to be smeared, slurred or whatever.
- Seanad: Justice Matters: Statements (22 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: The Tánaiste certainly did not allow anything of the sort to happen. The email in question clearly states that she had no role or function in the matter. Had the Tánaiste given any kind of a direction to anybody on the commission of inquiry, the Opposition would rightly have something to say. The Opposition cannot have its bread buttered on both sides. The bottom line is that...
- Seanad: Justice Matters: Statements (22 Nov 2017)
Martin Conway: The Tánaiste has never done anything inappropriate in her professional life. As Tánaiste, Minister, Deputy and Senator, she has served the public, through her hard work, with dignity, integrity, and determination. She quite rightly outlined what she did when Minister for Justice and Equality in order to ensure that we could see that there was transparency, justice and an...
