- Committee on Housing and Homelessness: National Treasury Management Agency and Department of Finance (31 May 2016)
Joan Collins: I would like to make a longer statement but I know we are here to ask questions so I will try to keep my contribution fairly succinct. The problem is that social housing has not really been addressed here. All of the discussion is directed towards private financing for private developers to build houses that will probably cost between €300,000 and €350,000. People cannot...

- Committee on Housing and Homelessness: National Treasury Management Agency and Department of Finance (31 May 2016)
Joan Collins: I find it perverse that the Irish League of Credit Unions proposal has been before the Department of Finance since last October, when it wrote initially and we became aware of it, and not one house has been built or even gone to planning stage. The figure is €3 billion.

- Order of Business (9 Jun 2016)
Joan Collins: Yes. Following on from that question, and I would like the Minister to reply succinctly to Deputy Daly's question, I do not believe we should go to a citizens' convention on this issue. We discussed the issue in great detail in the previous Dáil and we should move quickly now to repeal the eighth amendment.

Joan Collins: Will the Minister indicate if the Government is prepared to do that?
- Insurance Costs: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (9 Jun 2016)
Joan Collins: The debate on this issue is based on the fact that people have been coming to Deputies' constituency offices. We have met many people, including taxi drivers who have seen their insurance increase by 300%, who are being quoted vastly outrageous charges for their insurance. I know of one particular case of a 28 year old woman who drives a Micra, which is 15 years old. The car has passed its...
- Topical Issue Debate: Services for People with Disabilities (14 Jun 2016)
Joan Collins: I am sharing my time Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett. One reason I submitted this topic is that I, along with other Deputies, received a number of e-mails yesterday on St. Augustine's special needs school, run by St. John of God Community Services Limited. As evident in the discussion on WALK PEER, we are seeing services being pulled from people with disabilities. In the case I wish to...
- Topical Issue Debate: Services for People with Disabilities (14 Jun 2016)
Joan Collins: I thank the Minister of State for his reply. The key issue, as he noted and the letter from St. John of God community services states, is that demand for residential services in St. Augustine's special school has decreased. Nevertheless, regardless of whether only two or three children are involved, they should be facilitated through the provision of services. It is crucial that disabled...
