Charlie McConalogue: There is a legal requirement for animal feed imported into the State to be notified to my Department. In 2022, some 160,000 tonnes of maize was imported from Ukraine. However of this amount, over 83,000 tonnes had already been imported into Ireland by the time the war had started. In 2023 to date, c. 26,500 tonnes have been imported from Ukraine.
