Patricia Ryan: That brings me back to the question I asked the delegation from the Central Bank, who were here previous to the witnesses. I want to know the witnesses' views on once-off payments as part of last year's budget and the coming budget. Do they share the concerns of the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council about repeating, if not last year's mistakes then certainly past mistakes?

Patricia Ryan: That is fair play. I will give a plug as well. As spokesperson for older people, I deal with many people who worry and have concerns about food and fuel. It has become increasingly difficult for them this year. They are concerned. I would be quite concerned about their being looked after in this budget. We certainly need to see something in the budget for older people.
