Pearse Doherty: It does not matter whether they are withdrawn. The crime has been committed. It may save AXA, but someone is committing a crime. AXA must report fraudulent claims to the Garda whether or not they are withdrawn.

Pearse Doherty: If the industry reports a claim, they also have to follow it through. They have to appoint somebody, work with the Garda district inspector, report it to national level, and stick with the claim, which creates a burden on the industry.

Pearse Doherty: I will rewind a bit. Mr. O'Rourke says that AIG reported all fraudulent claims to the Garda. There were ten cases in 2018, which is 3% of AIG's overall personal injury claims. Is he saying that only 300 personal injury claims were made?
