Paschal Donohoe: The tax expenditure associated with the 0% benefit-in-kind (BIK) rate for electric vehicles announced in Budget 2018 was set at €0.5m for this year. Comprehensive data on BIK for company cars does not currently exist and therefore it is not possible to provide a precise amount for the tax expenditure associated with the 0% BIK rate for electric vehicles.
