This committee does not have jurisdiction over what the Minister, Deputy O'Gorman, may or may not do. I am trying to zoom in on the elements of what we have under discussion today in order to keep us on the right side of the debate.

The Senator stated that she is not sure if it is in the pact or not. It is hard to answer a question about something in the abstract.

James Lawless: To be fair to the Department and Ms Kenny in particular, we are considering the pact, and while I appreciate there are breaking developments in Cabinet and in the ether that are relevant, Ms Kenny does not know all the details right now.
