Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Post-Budget Analysis: Irish Fiscal Advisory Council (8 Dec 2020)

Kieran O'Donnell: I welcome Mr. Barnes and his colleagues and thank them for the great work they do in the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council. I have a couple of comments to make on Mr. Barnes's statement. We are in the eye of the storm in terms of Brexit. Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Post-Budget Analysis: Irish Fiscal Advisory Council (8 Dec 2020)

Kieran O'Donnell: Dr. Lawless is referring to a 3% reduction in GDP with a free trade agreement and that that would double in the event of a hard Brexit. I am surprised it is not more. While 3% is a sizeable reduction, Dr. Lawless has stated it will be only 6% if there is no free trade agreement. I would have thought the differential would be much higher.

Where does he see the...
