Michael McDowell: Information received by my Department suggests that the marriage of the person referred to in the Deputy's question is not valid. Correspondence issued on 17 January 2006 explained that a person may make an application to the courts for a declaration their marriage is valid under Section 29 of the Family Law Act, 1995 which can be arranged through their legal representatives.
