County Meath has one of the highest death rates, from lung cancer, lymphoma, melanoma, oesophageal cancer, prostate cancer and stomach cancer. How can anyone seriously campaign to retain the status quo?

Thomas Byrne: This strategy must be implemented and resourced, as the Labour Party said, as soon as possible. We might do slightly better in County Meath with breast cancer, probably BreastCheck, and the Dóchas centre has been doing much work. Still too many people are dying. Let us get this up and running, resource it and let Professor Keane get on with his job and stop people dying.
