- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Future of Mental Health Care: Community Health Care Organisations: Discussion (18 Jan 2018)
Anne Rabbitte: When referring to CAMHS beds, we are effectively talking about a CAMHS bed for a child, for example, in Donegal. To clarify, a CAMHS bed facilitates anybody under the age of 18. Would it be better to provide CAMHS beds in the locality, in Sligo General Hospital or in places closer to home? Would closer proximity not facilitate better recuperation? Let us be mindful of the long distances...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Future of Mental Health Care: Community Health Care Organisations: Discussion (18 Jan 2018)
Anne Rabbitte: I wish to make a comment. Mr. Canavan's reply does not fly for the simple reason that 21 community teams are inadequately staffed. Therefore the support is not in the community. When was the last time CHO 2 Galway conducted a recruitment campaign to recruit more staff?

- Report of the Joint Committee on the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution: Statements (17 Jan 2018)
Anne Rabbitte: I welcome the opportunity to speak on this matter. Like Deputy Naughton, I have been on a journey. I am of a particular pro-life view, but I joined the committee with an open mind. I thank all of the committee members. Going into the debate was daunting and nerve-racking, given the two strong viewpoints. I would not like to believe that I would ever let anyone tell me what to do or...

- Hospital Trolley Crisis: Motion [Private Members] (16 Jan 2018)
Anne Rabbitte: I call on the Minister to reopen hospital beds. Those waiting on the trolleys are sick people who need to be in hospital. One reason they are on trolleys is there are no hospital inpatient beds available to them. All acute hospital beds need to be reopened immediately and appropriately staffed and resourced. Health care professionals in emergency departments and acute hospitals nationwide...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Children and Youth Affairs: Annual Report of Ombudsman for Children 2016: Discussion (16 Jan 2018)
Anne Rabbitte: There are many children not in care in need of disability services and a path has also been opened for them to access the ombudsman. This is important. Many of my constituents have contacted me as they have children with disabilities and find themselves being given a horrific run-around. They feel as the child approaches 16, they are being left hanging on until he or she enters adulthood...
