- Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Tax Avoidance (11 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: Diarmaid Ferriter put it well in The Irish Timeswhen he said that if the Department of Finance were to be believed, there must be an awful lot of eejits slaving away on academic research projects relating to tax. The approach of the Department and the Government is simply to deny report after report based on facts which illustrate Ireland's role as a corporate tax haven. Let us deal with...
- Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Tax Avoidance (11 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: Butter would not melt in the Minister's mouth. These companies are simply super-productive and it is all down to the workers. That is not true and the Minister knows it. I am defensive of those workers who work in multinational corporations. I am defensive of their terms and conditions and I am defensive of their ability to be productive, but I do not buy the idea that they are 16 times...

- Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Tax Avoidance (11 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: I ask the Minister to recognise the writing on the wall and to accept the reality that Ireland is a major corporate conduit tax haven. - Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Employment Equality Act Order: Minister for Education and Skills (5 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: This is a classic case of "if I were you, I would not start from here" because, although I am against discrimination on the basis of religion, to which this measure amounts, I support minority rights. The requirement for religious discrimination in order to protect minority rights arises from our sectarian school system. Does the Minister agree that this points to the need for a wholesale...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Review of Relationships and Sexuality Education: Discussion (Resumed) (5 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: Would it surprise Mr. Curtis and Dr. Gormley to learn that in a survey of school students conducted by the Irish Second–Level Students Union students were asked to rate their experience of relationships and sexuality education on a scale of one to five, with one being terrible and five being excellent, and that approximately 45% rated it at one, with 25% or so rating it at two or...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Review of Relationships and Sexuality Education: Discussion (Resumed) (5 Jul 2018)

Paul Murphy: Can I get an answer on Familiaris Consortio?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Review of Relationships and Sexuality Education: Discussion (Resumed) (5 Jul 2018)
Paul Murphy: I think this gets to the point. Dr. Gormley can say the content as delivered is the same but then he says different materials and different methods are used, which gives rise to the question of whether what the student is taught in the classroom is any different. It would seem to me that it is likely that it is. It is a Jesuitical distinction between the content and the method of delivery....
