- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Situation in Gaza - Middle East Peace Process: Palestinian and Israeli Ambassadors (3 Sep 2014)
Mark Daly: Thank you, Chairman. One of the points made concerned who had made the translation of the comments made about humiliating and shaming activists in Ireland who would be Irish citizens. This seems to be a policy of the embassy. They were translated by the Israeli Channel 10 news. I am also amazed that the ambassador was not aware of this. They were the ones who carried out the translation.

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Situation in Gaza - Middle East Peace Process: Palestinian and Israeli Ambassadors (3 Sep 2014)
Mark Daly: I thank the ambassador for coming before the committee. I wish to raise two issues. One is the ambassador's assertion that Israel was entitled to retaliate and fire at the school despite the fact that its co-ordinates had been given to the Israeli defence forces 17 times. Is the ambassador aware of protocol 1 of the Geneva Convention 1949 which refers to the event of an attack which may be...

Mark Daly: I thank the ambassador for his attendance and wish to re-emphasise one point that was made earlier in respect of Israel. One does not expect much from dictatorships or countries that are engaged in terrorism, which is why there is no point in bringing before this committee representatives of some countries in the Middle East. That is what dictatorships do - they wage war against democracies...

- Seanad: Situation in Gaza and Ukraine: Statements (31 Jul 2014)
Mark Daly: I welcome the Minister and thank him for staying for the duration of the debate to listen to all the contributions. Senator Paul Bradford said if he were to ask colleagues who believe in the right of Israel to exist to stand up, how many would remain in their seats. I would not only stand to support its right merely to exit, it should be allowed to thrive and flourish - merely existing is...

- Seanad: Order of Business (16 Jul 2014)
Mark Daly: I support Senator MacSharry's call for the Taoiseach to come to the House for a debate on the funding cuts to those who represent the most vulnerable in our society. As Senator van Turnhout said, the Irish Deaf Society is among the organisations that had its funding cut. I also thank colleagues with regard to the initiative we took last year to recall the Seanad in August. They will be glad...
- Seanad: Order of Business (15 Jul 2014)
Mark Daly: With leave from the House, I seek an amendment to the Order of Business to the effect that No. 19, the Immigration Reform for US Citizens Living in Ireland Bill, be introduced today. This is tied to the fact that the new US ambassador to Ireland will go before the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations today and I hope the appointment will be ratified. This has been the longest period of...
