Cormac Devlin: Mr. Hill said earlier that the line in one of the emails which is less redacted than the others was a throwaway line. The line was about looking for the same arrangement sought by that employee. While you were not involved in those discussions, you did then take the payment when it was offered. Is that the case?

Cormac Devlin: Wow. In terms of the throwaway remark, I suppose it is good thing that Mr. Hill did not ask for a private jet or something like that because it seems that whatever was asked for actually materialised. It is bizarre that an employee contacted you seeking that their holiday pay be paid to them, you forwarded that on and you asked for the same, and then it all materialised.. Is that correct?

Cormac Devlin: Okay. My next point is on the MOU, in place since 2020 and the obligation to monitor financial position, internal controls and governance in the FAI. When he took up the position, Mr. Hill would be aware that with the headlines the FAI had created in Ireland recently, its reputation needed to be repaired. Obviously, between the lateness of the opening statement, this particular issue which...

Cormac Devlin: Mr. Hill must appreciate though that the FAI should be more focused on the game itself, rather than being in the headlines itself. Is that not true?

Cormac Devlin: I think a number of those individuals are also not happy about what has transpired here today regarding the delay and everything else we spoke about. Dr. May, I want to get clarity on some points. The MOU contained a number of key requirements for Sport Ireland and the FAI to fulfil. Yes, the MOU may have ceased but I want to make sure that a number of elements materialised. One...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Climate Action: Climate Action Plan 2023: Discussion (Resumed) (22 Feb 2024)

Cormac Devlin: We have the right people in the room to tell us it will be on time. I apologise to the Chair for my delay. I was also at the public accounts committee meeting. The Minister mentioned the BusConnects plan. It is being rolled out in various phases. We know that. Reference was also made to the N11-M11 junction. I heard the Minister's response to that. That is the Minister's view and I...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Climate Action: Climate Action Plan 2023: Discussion (Resumed) (22 Feb 2024)

Cormac Devlin: With regard to those slip lanes, I presume the Minister and his officials are aware of that. You will have a cycle lane, a bus lane, what would be traditionally known as the slow lane and the faster lane on the outer side. That slow lane becomes a turning lane and, therefore, a national road goes down to one lane moving-ish. This is the result of the BusConnects proposal. I have made my...
