Matt Carthy: Prior to the Government decision of 10 March, if I read this correctly, the rate of mineral oil tax that applied to agri-diesel then would have been €138.17 per 1,000 l.

Matt Carthy: As part of the package of measures on fuels, the Minister introduced a two cent reduction, which means that the current rate is, I believe, €120.55.

Matt Carthy: That has been described by a number of farm organisations including farm and forestry contractors as an insult. A number of other farming organisations described it as insufficient.
