Colm Burke: On the recovery of moneys, I know that the job of the Tax Appeals Commission is to decide after an appeal has been lodged. Does Ms Maney have any figures percentage wise on what is physically recovered once the Tax Appeals Commission has made a decision? Is that ever fed back to the Tax Appeals Commission or is that matter entirely for the Revenue?

Colm Burke: Regarding the point I raised about mediation, it was confirmed to us that there is a need for legislation. This should also be incorporated in what the report said, which was that we should bring forward the recommendation to the Department of Finance that the legislation should be in place so that these issues can be dealt with by way of mediation.
