Colm Burke: I am aware that the €850,000 has been made available but can we see action in the next two to three months? It is fine to allocate the money but we need to see actual action on it. It is a growing problem and is becoming very serious in certain communities.

Colm Burke: I thank Mr. Walsh. Can I go back to the Minister of State, please, on the funding for community services? My understanding is that moneys were allocated for community services. How will that be implemented and are all areas in the country to be taken into account in dealing with the support funding that is required at community level?

Colm Burke: If a community comes to the HSE or to the Department over the next 12 to 18 months, will their concerns be taken on board in respect of receiving the necessary support because the reaction time seems to be very slow? The big concern that is being raised with me by communities is the delay in getting access to the necessary support.
