Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (24 Nov 2022)

Matt Carthy: It should only be for a few weeks. I would not like to give the board any impression. Perhaps we could move into early February. Regardless of whether the accounts are signed off, we should tell the representatives of the board we will have them in. I do not want to provide them with a rationale not to submit their accounts to avoid appearing. I am sure they would never be so cynical.

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (24 Nov 2022)

Public Accounts Committee: Business of Committee (24 Nov 2022)

Matt Carthy: Yes, with the proviso on the changes that we have made. It would be useful to bring in officials from the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to discuss accommodation for asylum seekers some time in March or April. That would be an appropriate time.

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations 2022: Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (23 Nov 2022)

Matt Carthy: I welcome the Minister. We have discussed this fund before. It is unique as it is the only line in the budget that must be distinctly approved by the Oireachtas and it is distinct as the split between horse racing and greyhound racing is enforced in accordance with the Act. Following the approval by the Dáil - assuming it is received - the Minister allocates the funding via parameter...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations 2022: Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (23 Nov 2022)
