To be absolutely clear, ownership is retained by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. Peter Burke: There is nothing new in this provision. It reflects what has been in place for 100 years. There is no change. It refers to the foreshore area.

In terms of the State Property Act and the thresholds the sale of State property has to go through, that is not a matter for this Bill. It is set out in separate legislation.
