Mairéad Farrell: Is my time up? I am only beginning. I will quickly go back to section 110, which is an issue I have been raising for a very long time. To be perfectly honest, my concern is that it will fall off the radar. We have seen it being raised repeatedly in the media in recent times. We saw it twice - there was a housing issue and then there was an issue with planes. My concern is that it will...

Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Seirbhísí Fuíolluisce Poiblí sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (15 Feb 2023)

Mairéad Farrell: Bhí mé istigh ar feadh tamaillín ach bhí orm dul ar ais chuig mo choiste féin agus cúpla ceist a chur agus ansin lean sé ar aghaidh ós cionn leathuair a chloig. Go raibh míle maith agaibh. Léigh mé an méid a bhí le rá ag na finnéithe agus chuala mé píosa den chaint. B’fhéidir go n-ardóidh...

Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Seirbhísí Fuíolluisce Poiblí sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (15 Feb 2023)

Mairéad Farrell: Luaigh Máirín Ní Choisdealbha-Seoige gur theip trí huaire ar iarratas i gcomhair scéim tithíochta. I mbealach, tá sé sin cineál dochreidte ag an bpointe seo. Tuigimid ar ndóigh go bhfuil fadhb ann muna bhfuil an t-infreastruchtúr ann ach dá mbeadh sé sin i bhfeidhm, ba chóir go mbeadh sé éasca tithe...

Joint Committee on the Irish Language, the Gaeltacht and the Irish Speaking Community: Seirbhísí Fuíolluisce Poiblí sa Ghaeltacht: Plé (15 Feb 2023)

Mairéad Farrell: Maidir leis na tithe folmha sin atá sa cheantar, an bhfuil a fhios ag daoine cé leis iad? An bhfuil an t-eolas sin sa cheantar nó an é uaireanta gur bhog teaghlach ón gceantar agus gur fágadh an teach ó pháiste go páiste agus nach bhfuil an t-eolas sin ann? Arís leis na scoileanna, tuigim go bhfuil fadhb an daonra ann, ach an bhfuil aon...

Mairéad Farrell: Tuigim. Is é an rud a rinne mise agus mé óg nuair a bhí mé ar an mbunscoil ná go mbéinn ag dul amach go Cill Chiaráin. Bhí mé ar scoil ansin chuile shamhradh ar feadh coicíse nó rud éigin mar sin. Mhothaigh sé domsa ar nós go raibh mé ag caitheamh míonna ann. Nuair atá tú óg, chíonn...

Cost-of-Living Supports: Motion [Private Members] (14 Feb 2023)

Mairéad Farrell: I saw yesterday how the Government was in celebratory mode. It was celebrating that Ireland has the fastest growing GDP in all the EU. I am sure this news must have come as great comfort for all of those currently struggling to pay their bills. I am sure all those anxiously waiting for the eviction ban to be lifted must have slept a little easier last night. I am sure spontaneous street...
