Close, but not entirely correct: A vector in this context is any living carrier of a disease. In the case of Lyme's it would be an insect, but it could also be - for example - a domestic cat, which can pass toxoplasmosis to people via contact with cat faeces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_%28epidemiology%29 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toxoplasmosis
