I am in the process of applying for carers allowance (20/05/2011). I phoned to day to find out how the application was going (16 weeks) only to be told that the average waiting time is now TWENTY SIX weeks! - despite being told on the recorded message that there was a delay of 13 weeks! - Please, Joan Burton, explain the discrepancy of what you have written and what is happening to me??
