“Once industry is involved, the money is already in and has been used up developing the equipment. I have concerns that AI is in the Department it is in, that is, it is in enterprise. Does Mr. Sherwin know what I mean? If something is seen as enterprise and the testing is done later, nobody really wants to put the product back on the shelf, in a sense.”

“Exactly. I wonder about affordability when we get to the stage where there are AI-powered tools that are beneficial and we are going to use them. Obviously, there are already wealth, educational, literacy and digital literacy gaps in Ireland. People who live with a disability are more likely to experience poverty. Then we have people who are extremely impoverished in many different ways...”
