I wish to announce for the information of the Dáil that having informed the President that Dáil Éireann had approved my nomination of Deputy Hildegarde Naughton to be a member of the Government, the President on 18 November 2025 appointed her accordingly. On the same day, I assigned the Department of Finance to the Tánaiste, Deputy Simon Harris, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Department of Defence to Deputy Helen McEntee, and the Department of Education and Youth to Deputy Hildegarde Naughton. On the same day, on my nomination, the Government appointed Deputy Emer Higgins to be Minister of State at the Department of Children, Equality and Disability with special responsibility for disability, and Deputy Frank Feighan to be Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation with special responsibility for public procurement, digitalisation and eGovernment. The Minister of State, Deputy Emer Higgins, will attend Government meetings.
