It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that the proceedings on the motion for approval by Dáil Éireann of the nomination of members of the Government shall, if not previously concluded, be brought to a conclusion after 1 hour and 42 minutes, and the following arrangements shall apply:

(1) the debate shall be confined to a single round and the arrangements shall be as follows: - the speech by the Taoiseach shall not exceed 10 minutes;

- speeches by representatives of other Government parties, Sinn Féin, the Labour Party, Social Democrats, People-Before-Profit-Solidarity, the Regional Group, the Rural Independent Group and the Independent Group shall not exceed 10 minutes per party or group;

- contributions by non-aligned members shall not exceed 2 minutes; and

- members may share time; and (2) on the conclusion of the proceedings on the motion, the Dáil shall adjourn until 2 p.m. tomorrow, whereupon the arrangements for the taking of business tomorrow and Thursday shall be determined by the House on a proposal by the Government Chief Whip.
