I have questioned the Minister previously on the PGI status for beef. As he knows, my view is that we should have been looking for this status for premium Irish suckler beef rather throwing in everything bar the kitchen sink with the term "grass-fed beef", which suits the beef processing industry. Having said that, 12 months ago the Minister gave me a commitment that the Commission was actively looking at this and seeking feedback from member states. What has happened and where is this application now?
