Adult education tutors will organise a protest outside Leinster House today at 1 o'clock to demand improved terms and conditions for their job. They state they are not treated properly compared to other public servants. They have a number of issues around pay parity and the public services contract. This is a protracted set of circumstances. Last September, the then Department of Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform put forward a proposal in regard to their situation. The workers want to know when this will be settled, when they will get pay parity with their colleagues and when they will be recognised as public servants.
