At the end of the Minister of State's contribution, she mentioned people with multiple sclerosis, MS, who would not be able to access the primary medical certificate because they have some form of mobility. I have MS but am lucky enough to have full mobility. I know people with disabilities facing challenges who are not physically seen. I know some of these as challenges as I have had to face over the years, and many people with MS or other neurological conditions must face them on a daily basis as well.

I spoke with representatives of the MS society this week and they asked me to direct a question to the Minister for Finance. They want to ensure that people living with MS and other conditions who want to appeal a decision on an application to the disabled driver and passenger scheme can expect the appeals committee to be in place and the processing of appeals to be resumed.
