I thank the Leas-Cheann Comhairle for giving me this time. I am raising the issue because of the seriousness of it and in light of the report in the Irish Examinerof the concerns expressed by the Data Protection Commissioner. I voted for what I thought, and what I was told, was a Bill to preserve information. I did not vote to lock away that information for 30 years and make it inaccessible to people. We need to stop the Bill's progress in the Seanad. It must be brought back to the Dáil and we must look at it again when we are sure we have the proper facts.
